  1. Thanks Guys! As usual, fast and helpful. Eric
  2. Hey Folks, I am finishing up the service on a Seiko 7S26-0020. I am getting ready to put in the fresh crystal and gasket. Do you apply silicon to this gasket prior to pressing in the crystal?? Thanks, Eric
  3. Greetings from a fellow Oregonian! You will like it here. What part of the state are you in? Eric
  4. Some really good ideas! Will be looking into them. SSTEEL are you happy with you black mat? Never really thought about anything but the traditional green mats and havent seen them used before. Thanks again guys, Eric
  5. Hey Folks, A while ago I purchased a Bergeon 6808 bench mat that I am not very happy with. It curls up at the corners even after being stuck to the bench and dents easier than I would like. Time to replace it. Before I do I thought I would ask the group what their thoughts are and what they are using? Eric
  6. One thing that really has helped me when doing this is to work in a direction. By that I mean after putting LIGHT pressure on one edge of the bridge, try and get the pivot of the closest jewel in first, then move onto the next closest jewel etc. Sometimes I find that if it is not working at the original pressure point, I change to the other side of the bridge and start again. GENERALLY I find starting on the escape wheel side is best as it has the smallest (read hardest to find) pivot and the center wheel the largest (easiest) to locate pivot. Hope this helps! Eric
  7. Picked these up today while taking my wife's sewing machine in for service. Appear to be of decent quality and were only $4.99. Can't hardly beat that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Amazon was the first place I looked also before I asked the question. Have to to do some more searching, Thanks for the quick reply!
  9. I love this clock!! Could you tell me the model numbers? I am having a difficult time finding it.
  10. Last couple of days I have been trying to learn to use a mainspring winder. First two attempts ended up coming out into nice tight tangled balls! On a positive note......I think they may make nice Christmas tree decorations! Eric
  11. Thanks Guys. I will have to play with this more and see if it is something to keep or sell off. Never really had a problem sizing bands without. Didnt even know they made such a thing. Eric
  12. I was guessing that was it but it seemed too substantial with too many parts just to do that one thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Recently won an auction of watch making tools and this was one of the items. Have tried to Google it without finding much info. Any help appreciated!! Eric
  14. It is Breitling's version of the Valjoux 7750. I have had it for over a decade and still runs to a couple seconds a day. I need to get better at this watchmaking habit because I am sure it needs a service though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
