  9. All was going great when I diagnosed that the canon pinion was in need of tightening. I dismantled very carefully and thought I would give it a service. Whilst rebuilding, again very methodically and carefully, the darned pinion on the 4th wheel just flipped! To try and console myself I imagined this was due to the age and wear/tear, still mightily frustrating. It still works well and keeps good time but alas no seconds hand fitted. It's an ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH (ALSTATER) fitted with a Schild 1568 movement. Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement 4th wheel, pretty please? Agreat forum with some very educated contributors nice to join and read you all. Thanks!
  10. Possibly, just needs practice really, time not really an issue. Looks like i will give it a go. Cheers.
  11. YES DID THAT AND NO JOY, THEY CANCELLED THE REQUEST. I GUESS JUST NOT A STOCK ITEM. PROBLEM IS IT'S FOR THE CHIMING SIDE OF AN 18TH CENTURY REPEATING VERGE WATCH AND IS ONLY 15" LONG.
  12. Hi all, just received my Generale ressorts 2 catalogue from cousins £22.45 inc postage. Problem is I can't find a supplier that sells by GR codes, only by size. The spring I want is in the catalogue but not sold anywhere I can find in the sizes I quote. Has anyone got any ideas where I can get what I need? I live in the UK.
