  3. Sacrilege, besides it isn't high enough proof to be completely effective. I suggest you stick to drinking the stuff, the warm internal glow will kill any viruses, or at least get them so pissed they will forget what they were meant to be doing.

  4. Your own diagnosis gets my vote. "An issue in set train" You can produce more data, make a note of the min it clicks, repeat to make sure of it's consistency. Turn anticlock to set time, make note of the min it clicks. If the click shifts to a different min, it's friction exasperat fault, if it is at the same min, a broken teeth. The teeth could have been damaged during service a day before it went on sale.

  6. I suppose its service history is unknown, it could be even that is has never been serviced and getting close to 50 years now. Bring it to your repair shop with confidence, they will telly exactly what it is and provide an estimate.

  9. Hi! Welcome. I just joined WRT on Monday this week. I thought they were a support group for horology addicts..... like Alcohilics Anonymous. But.... NOOOO... They actually encourage it.

  14. Hi There Mo As Old H says they are quite straight forward to re bush and its an interesting design of clockcase. You don't need special tools just skill. I have done several using a drill press and a set of broaches and have had no problems. For a man of your talents a doddle, an afternoons work. The movement is just a little pin pallet would be like bushing a pocket watch only easier plates are thinner. cheers and stay safe in these times.

  15. Yes, it is. But that it is is generally benign to youth is something that can't be denied. A little earlier I spoke to a guy, I think he's well under under 30, from the most affected town in the most affected (at this time) Western country, the coffins piling up at the mortuary as there are not enough ovens for the mandatory cremation - now for a fact, average age of the deceased is above 75 yrs. And they are dying alone, isolated from their relatives, and not given what is a normal funeral here. He didn't call for a week, he said during that time he had 37.5 temperature, diminished taste and smell, as well his family members. No cough, no cold, no treatment, no testing. But they feel OK now. If that is not covid-19, then I don't know what it is because I never heard of a flu like that. That being said I do not condone anyone of any age behaving in a less than a responsible way. About something else, but still related. I've read in various place that in my country the elder is denied intensive care. Now, that is FAKE NEWS for real. Here nobody is left behind, each one is given the best possible care, and even if under extreme duress, our system is still able to cope. If you have doubts read some good journalism https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/extra/dj3jonuhi1/coronavirus-year-of-the-mask

  17. It's so scarce around here that I'm almost down to using watch paper. I'll be OK as long as my new cheese diet kicks in. But of course that may bring on other issues.

  18. Looks to be a 2 inch 30 hour movement. Years ago if the movement wore out, you would just buy a replacement. They don't make the wind ups any more only Quartz which I hate. This one looks very dry, Its a good thing to make sure the pivots of the staff are nice and pointed like a sharpened pencil and not blunt. This can easly be repaired in a lathe using a small Arkansas stone with a little oil. It also improves the balance action.

  19. 1974 U.S. Military Benrus branded Eta 2750 A number of decades in a drawer with a bent lug and the wrong crown. Finally found a NOS case on ebay. Invested in a crystal claw, new MS from Cousins and a crown from stock. My first front loader and thank you Mark for the excellent video. I managed to rebuild it and get it back together without losing the lume from the hands so left the patina intact. Gains around 4 seconds a day or less. Finding a period correct one piece black nylon strap was as hard as finding the MS!

  20. That is called a pivot and it turns between holed jewels. There are many free resources to learn the correct name of parts. No spare parts are available for Chinese mov'ts. Sorry to be blunt but if you have an issue about £5-6 I recommend that you don't get into repairing watches.
