  1. If i have the parts i am willing to share. I can't use them in a lifetime. And lots of the movements are in bad shape .But some parts look fine. Could be hard to sell if i can't guarantee they are 100% perfect either. So as we all tinker with watches in here and can inspect the parts i send. It's nice to help out . Some other time it's maybe me that is searching for some hard to find part.

  4. Lol that's the problem JohnHutchins....I do not want to have to take apart this watch just to replace a capacitor, especially with those annoying/fragile plastic gears. Not worth the effort for a $60 job. I feel like Citizen made it like this in order to force customers to send their watch in for a $200 service that takes 6 months (in which they will just rip the stem out and replace the entire movement). Shame. You might be right though, Pip, maybe there's been some sort of manufacturing flaw or unseated piece that is preventing the stem from coming out. Shit does happen.

  5. Hi All. I am in the process of restoring a full hunter fusee pocket watch. I have stripped and clean all parts and have re-assembled. The fusee chain is installed and the watch with a few turns on t he fusee wheel works and keeps pretty good time considering its age. There is a fault though the fusee chain flips off the barrel when wound to just over half way. Any ideas on what can be done to correct this? Many thanks

  6. Today this package from sweeden came in mail, containing 11blacd escapement wheel, donor @rogart63 . Following fourteen years of in to do box I will hopefuly bring my bulova snorkel back to life and soon, I will post a picture of it on watch of today thread. Thank you Rogart63 for this gift, very precious to me. In appreciation of your generosity and in your name, I make sure to pass on three winding stems to the novices and three balance staffs to experienced learners. I have no problem shipping small parts.

  7. Hi all, i have no experience repairing watches but I am a pretty hands on and mechanical guy. I am looking for some advice for my Seiko SNZG15, 7s26 movement. It's a pretty cheap watch so I have a feeling it might not be worth taking to a professional to repair. I will explain what happened and I hope that someone here can offer some advice. I have worn the watch for three years straight. I was taking it off the other night and it slipped out of my hand and hit the floor face down. The Seiko emblem bent out from the face with the S still flush on the face and the o sticking out a bit, just enough to interfere with at least the hour hand. It's still ticking fine, but in my foolish curiosity I attempted to adjust the time. I don't remember which hand, but one of them came into contact with the emblem and got hung up. I was able to free it, but damage had already been done. Now I can't really adjust the time and the hour and minute hands are out of sink. When I turn the crown the hands don't move hardly at all, if any. I'm thinking that since it is still ticking and keeping time that the actual movement is okay, but maybe some gears related to adjusting the time are damaged. Any thoughts? Can you even get replacement parts for this movement? I have watched some of the videos on this movement and I think that if it were the gears under the calendar and date wheels I might be able to replace them and just remove the emblem. Thanks, Eric

  14. 6309-5000 Can't photograph this as I see it. Dial is more towards grey/brown than the blue it looks like in photos. Also can't seem to pick up the faceted crystal too. https://i.imgur.com/nurIq9k.jpg

  15. Hi All/ I have indeed put the chain on the wrong way round. The word dipstick comes to mind here as I took a photo of the chain showing the correct way as I removed it. No excuses. Once again thanks for all your help.

  16. Hi All Oldhippy: Firstly I believe the hook is disegaging from t he barrel and I may have inadvertently fitted the chain the wrong way round. I think I installed the chain like this. The outside hook with the horn on, I have in the fusee cone and the hook you show in the centre is in the barrel. Is this wrong? I will check tomorrow and let you all know if I have indeed put the chain on wrong. Many thanks to all for replying and giving me your help.
