  2. No canon sweep pinion I can see. Canon pinion turning smoothly - should I grease between the mainplate and the canon pinion gear? Missing dial washer?

  3. So it's not a viable proposition. I take your point, just thinking out loud.

  5. Here's another Blue Dialed Seiko . This time a 5606-5039 . My phone camera really does not capture the sharp lines of the watch or the sharp differences between the Brushed top and the polished sides of the watch and the blemish free crystal .. Production date was April 1972 .

  6. Thanks, rogart63. I'll try that balance-swing test next time I pull the crystal. I ended up punting by setting date and time to the present before quickly casing and replacing crystal. Since it's my own watch, I can get away with such badness. :-) After all, I shouldn't have to mess with the date until...oh crap...the end of this month when I have to deal with the short month we're in. Doh! If I was smart AND lazy, I would have set the date to compensate for that change, if possible. Oh well, I'll pop the crystal again in a couple of weeks and check it out further. I'll also brush up on using the timegrapher. In the meantime, I have another Wittnauer electronic I bought a while back to clean. It has the later ESA9154 model in it. Thanks again.

  8. My big dilemma for today was which blue dialed vintage Seiko am I going to wear ? First I tried my Seiko 6119-5411 which is definitely a favorite of mine I think , because for one reason or another It took me for what seemed an eternity to finally get this watch running and looking good to my satisfaction . I love the UFO shape....... ET , where are you ? or my Mad Men wannabe Seiko Actus... 7019-5040 .... well , as usual ,...I'm having a hard time making a descision on this matter so I'm going to flip a coin and see what destiny has in mind . to be continued....

  9. A recent acquisition that's almost instantaneously become a favorite. Wenger SeaForce, special edition Arctic Lights. Swiss quartz movement. So far, it's proving to be very accurate.
