  1. The movement is in extremely good condition. I always look at the screw heads and they are all perfect, no marks on the plates. It probably has never been serviced. The case is a different matter, someone has said the case has had engraving removed and I agree, you do not know how thick or thin that back is and some very nasty marks due to removing the back. Looking at the market price and the damage done I would say around £700

  2. Somehow statements like that comes back to bite you in the ass. Even though this contraption is on the beat error arm it can be used to regulate the rate, python port regulator, hence the + and - . It has a smal brass disk attached to the center of the small setting screw, it moves back and forth. Due to the friction between the brass disk and the regulator arm it moves it in micro steps. For some reason one always seen them but never given em a closer thought. Here is a pic of a spare I had. Notice the easy studless hairspring attachment.

  3. Guess they just symbolize the direction to go when adjusting the beat error. It isn't like on the regulator where you make the spring length shorter or longer and by that increase or decrease the oscillation frequency. Should have been R & L since you center the impulse pin in relation to the pallet fork with it,

  4. Put the balance bridge back, wind it up fully, it now should tick away like a Swedish viking on magic mushrooms.

  5. Hi All, Something to brighten up a gloomy day! Picked up this absolutely stunning old Tudor 9ct gold recently. According to the previous (original) owner it had barely been out of the box in his ownership since it was presented to him in the 1970s as a long service award (happily for future owners it wasn't engraved). Original strap (transferred off for now in favour of something more my taste), signed buckle, signed crown, and all of the original box and paperwork in absolutely mint condition. You can tell it's hardly been worn when you wind it and adjust the hands, it still feels really 'tight' (but not too much as to indicate an issue!). Can't imagine there's too many out there that has all this in such fine condition. Very pleased with this find!
