  1. All sorted and working fine. Thanks very much for all the great ideas and changeling thinking. At the end it was only the oiling of the spheres of the bearing that was creating atriction and stopping the oscilating weight to move with short and slow movements. The 4 small drops of 9010 that I put after assembly were causing this. After a good cleaning and assembly the bearing without lub it is charging the mainspring well. Thanks again!!! 2. I have a personal list here of some key cutter/boot mender shops attempts to repair watches which have then been brought to me, mainly Quartz and three Mechanical. I will keep it to myself but my advice is SERIOUSLY DON`T !!.

  5. Closing holes for either clocks or watches is a poor practice. Not sure what hole you are trying to close but the correct way would be to re-bush. Normally Rolex use jewels not bushes.

  6. I only have three in my home; two are Elliott 8 day timepieces. The other is a French strike on a bell. That one keeps stopping. That is the one I will at some point of time repair. I still need to get some more tools. I wish now I had not sold those years ago. When I start I’ll let you know.
