  2. Just finished making yet another balance staff. The big problem I had was that after I Jacot to pivots down to size, the balance itself was slightly warped causing the balance to rub against the palate fork plate. I managed to straighten it using caliber and fingers. Works well now. Fun day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  3. @oldhippy found a nice pic. Follow that for reference and try installing the parts you have numbered. Out the date wheel, then the parts in 5, then 4. Use clear wrap an be careful you don't lose that spring, then install 3,2, and 1. J

  4. Hi Guys I think the moral of this story is never store quartz watches or clocks with batteries in as all batteries given time will leak causing damage, best to remove the battery and fit a label as to what type it takes then its easy to pop one in when you want to wear it. saves scratching the head trying to remember what was fitted.

  5. I've used one for years with no detrimental effect to hairspring. Many professional watch cleaners also have ultrasonic cleaning.

  6. Hi Florian, if you are sure that the balance is clean, the HS central and free and no oil on the pallet pivots then have you properly de-magnetised the watch. Check that the lever flicks to the banking. Also try this for low amplitude, move the lever a touch from the banking both sides and watch the Draw pull the lever back when released. The gain sounds like a HS problem to me. I hope this is of help, Mike.

  7. I have done work on a similar movement. It has no auto-rotor but the same basics. Ronda 1217-21 17 jewels. These are pre cleaning pics... Hope this helps.

  8. Generally if remove every screw you see and you can still see, you have stripped down a movement. That is how I stripped down the first movement I repaired, then I got like this . Just kidding sunglassguy, welcome. Will you show some pictures ! Regards joe
