Hold the stem with your pin vise where the arrow is pointing and tighten right up. Then unscrew the button. New movements come with the plastic buttons so they can be tested winding up the normal way before they are sent out to the customer. There is no reason why you cannot use the stem. It is a waste of money buying another.

I acquired an old ETA 2824 movement that was out of a Technos watch. While taking it apart for a thorough service I learned quite a bit about the movement. The keyless works, date change parts, sliding and winding pinions were different to the current ETA 2814-2. The stem was of the helicoidal type - but was missing. I was very lucky to source some. I also changed to rotor for a new Swiss one. I had great fun in stripping it down and, as this was my first ETA 2824 service, was amazed at the quality of the components. When I opened the barrel, the spring was almost mint condition, in fact, I think the movement had hardly been used. Now, after its service and bringing it back to life, I think it's a fantastic movement. Here are a couple photos and a video of the timegrapher readings. I think I could even improve the -/+ sec/day setting. Timegrapher readings for dial side up and crown down. There's not much fluctuation in other positions.

Use watch/clock broaches. Here is a link. Measure the size you think you will need, and then look here. Use a little oil with the broach; it will help with the cutting. Broaches are tapered so be careful. You need the cutting type that is all. https://www.cousinsuk.com/category/broaches-cutting

However, the first one I bought quit working about an hour after I started wearing it. So, I took it back and they replaced it with a new one but it had an issue with the GMT hand; it moved 4 hours instead of one on the 24 hour dial. So it was sent back and they replaced the movement. Now it works perfectly and they were embarrassed to the point that they threw in a travel case and a winder to boot. I'm wearing it now...

Not easy to debug if I can't replicate your problem. I will reinstall the plugin later and post when I've done this. Tapatalk is a buggy piece of software and im getting tired of the malware aspect to be honest. The IP board web interface is now very excellent so you do still have access via mobile. The crown of the service stem is not really supposed to be removed, as it's made of grippy plastic and could be even glued. Another stem should be provided with the mov.t, or bought separately. If you want to reuse the service stem see if you can just cut it to length, otherwise heat the stem a little and grab it with ridged pliers near to the crwon.
