  3. Chopin Thank you! I can't believe it, but I had the spring backwards in its setting! Its a wonder I didn't break it. After answering your last post I thought "maybe I reversed it and now think that its correct." Maybe I'm getting too arrogant or cocky in my skill level by thinking "oh of course I know all about shock system...blah...blah..blah...." I should have realized when it was sliding out that it was incorrectly positioned. I am humbled now. Thanks again Chopin for dislodging my thinking out of its default mode. Feels good to be human!

  4. I would put the movement into a transparent zip lock bag, or at put some transparent plastic over the movement and use that to pressure the spring downwards and then just use the tweezers until I get it working. It's how I sometimes deal with stubborn incabloc systems.

  5. Same as I pay to ship a boxed watch in the EU. Could be that the UK has a better route to your country. Unregistered from Cousins takes a week, but once I had an item from the UK arrive in 2 days, still can't believe that myself.

  6. I really can’t help with this I’m no electrical engineer. The lathe I had was fitted with a foot control and I never knew what it was like before the conversion.

  8. Wore the Shturmanskie today - a Poljot chronograph that I've owned since it was new. It's showing some wear now, mainly the missing chrono reset stud and not much chrome left on the crown. If anybody can suggest a source for Poljot parts, I'd be grateful! I think Mark recently posted a teardown of this movement. Gryf

  9. I think I can answer the question regarding the Greiner Microphone with a photograph. Here's a photograph of a unmodified original factory pickup.

  10. If you dissect the microphone that came with the Escapement Analyzer software you'll find it has the same green sensor as found in the modified Greiner timing machine pick up. Then in the pickup there is a little bit of circuitry two transistors and three surface mount components soldered together. For the Greiner Pickup we can't see were all the wires go it's possible the circuitry is in there somewhere. So I've attached a photograph of what the microphone looks like dissected. Then as the green thing is rather unique in color and shape I suspect it's probably this one http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/vibration-sensors/0285784/ http://docs-europe.electrocomponents.com/webdocs/009f/0900766b8009f3f3.pdf
