  1. I subscribe with this Guy on youtube who does some really interesting repair vids. There has been of late a few posts on watchmakers lathes and I find this vid covering how to perform basic cuts on a lathe and his theory. Lathe work requires a whole new level of skills but well worth attaining .

  4. You'll find sapphire with that thickness on chinese online stores. Look it up on eBay or aliexpress.com. Here's one for 1,6mm. You could try other large online stores but I'm not sure if they have it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-3-1-4-1-5-1-6mm-Thick-30-38-5mm-Double-Domed-Sapphire-Watch-Crystal-Glass/302390289985?hash=item4667dda641:m:mYqJ8FK7B_ylMPPH0It4TmA

  5. Watched that video, and although interesting the presenter doesn't really know what all the bits are either, so im still in the dark, and as for finding info on the net it's a slog, also im having snags uploading pictures I keep getting error-200 for every image I try to upload so im unable to show you each part that im having snags with identifying and finding the correct use for them. So my first question is, whats a bell chuck and what's it used for?

  6. Unfortunately I've interacted with a few such sellers of watch parts lately, all with strange or bad communication skills. I'm not talking about bad language or anything like that but some people would reply to my first email and then go completely mum if I sent a follow-up with a few more details or requesting info about other parts as well (which would basically mean even more money for them). I don't know why that is but whenever people ask me questions I always answer them as best as I can...
