  1. Breaking away from Seiko's for a change, i saw this and had to give it a work over Swiss Made but assembled in England, the case design is awesome, smooth curved lines contrasted with straight and angular hands/indices, and that seconds hand just tipped me over the edge ETA 2783 - Summit 25 Jewel Automatic

  3. Ok so it's seikotime. This is another "bitser" that I've made up. I went through a phase of these things. It's an early 1960's seiko 8306 Sealion that I made up from my parts bin. The movement is a low /hi beat (pending on how you look at it at 18000) 30 jewel unit. Probably it's most interesting feature is the winding mechanism. You can hand wind it or it self winds using a fairly complex, but very smooth and compact inversion roller type mechanism. A nice change from the "magic arm" so common in seikos. I just couldn't find any more original dials so it got a Seiko 5 pilot type one and grafted it onto it. It doesn't really reflect what's under the hood (but I know and that's what counts), but it's produced a nice daily wearer.

  4. Many Timing Machines with paper strip from that time can test tuning fork watches. I use a software based version that also can test them. You may have a look at this: PC_Timing_Machine_info_eng_V2.pdf Regards, Frank

  5. Hello Christopher, Welcome to this friendly forum. Plenty of info for you on here. For starters if you are seriously going to make a living at this then you need very good tools, there not cheap, but will last a life time.

  6. QT99 on Y! http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r159932911 I don't doubt that Witschi Q1 can do than and much more, if you can part with an arm and eye.

  7. Have you looked on ebay to see what sort of price they fetch. As you know Bergeon tools are in many cases over priced even new tools cost a bomb. Is it worth you spending £45 and do you think you will ever use it.

  13. I bought another watch and Timegrapher ,, I regulated the Parnis power reserve and landed on a magic spot , it's running like a Quartz... I can't beleive it ... ..makes it all worth it ..It helps that it hacks so having the balance wheel stopped is a lot less distracting for newbies..When the Seiko stopped I was pushing the beat lever so I think the balance jewel ended up on the wrong side ,, the wheel stopped dead and wouldn't move ..I didn't realize a bit of beat error is acceptable ...

  14. Beside the amplitude that is kind of low, there is something increasing friction every 6 seconds. It points to a problem with the train or escape wheel in my opinion. You can find a timegrapher pattern reading guide somewhere in this forum or googling.

  15. This is NOT a Seiko forum! Enough is enough. Try to bring some variety!

  16. Looks as though the square ones are a little rare... The one above now has new hands fitted, those originals had really faded and discoloured--not so easy to see in that picture so have been replaced--exactly the same type--but nice bright and clean with fresh lume. The faded day-glo almost yellow seconds-hand is now replaced by nice new bright orange one. Only the case and crystal left to sort out......Then I'll have to stop wearing it every day for fear of damage--No free lunch!
