  1. Hi, Once I made myself a prototype for 3D printing with openSCAD. As pot I used some old 12 mm glasses.

  4. Crystals should be pressed in by the rim not the center. Maybe you are using a flat die? Use the hollow ones and make sure they push only on the edge of the crystal.

  6. It's not just a simple DTI, it is a specialised tool developed for horology. Have a look at this video and you will see the what it is capable of. The clip of the instructions is worth pausing, as it clearly shows the types of measurements the tool can be used for. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRjLnuYQuP0

  7. The sad thing is that they do need oil and compared to standard anchor escapements, they are prone to wear. I feel it is an unnecessary complication that is giving no real benefit. I wish I could give you the answer you require, hopefully Mark or some if the professional members will have the answers you require.

  8. If there was any hard dried old oil left in the jewels after cleaning, it may have expanded when you applied fresh oil. One of the first movements I worked suffered from this. A thorough clean as described below fixed the problem. Soak the main plate complete with balance attached in a jar of lighter fuel for twenty four hours to soften the dried oil. Now place the jar in an ultrasonic cleaner and give it a blast. Since doing this I have never experienced any problems.
