  1. I purchased this off eBay and it came all the way from Oz. So it's completely jammed up. A little rust found so far but the wheels are jammed solid. Hopefully no bent teeth. It's a Landeron149 and i'm looking forward to getting this baby working.

  2. Shame about the balance staffs but hopefully some good will come from it. I have in the past been able to pull a leather strap off the watch, the reason is that the hole in the strap is a tight fit on the the case pin and it is possible by pushing and pulling the strap, as in vigorous activity, to get the case pin to let go. This is not something you would want happening with customer watches. What a great dog, mans best friend.

  4. From what I have read and from experience I would say it essential that the train reverses a small amount after putting a turn or two on the mainspring. It is a very good indication that the wheel train is running freely, any power losses in the train are robbing the balance wheel of max. power. I would even say that if you do not get a reversal, find out why!
