  1. I absolutely love clean, clear and simple watches. Don't get me wrong, I do like a quirky watch as well. But this Omega is special to me as I purchased it from a customer just a few weeks into my apprenticeship. I did not know a heck of a lot about watches back then, being a 16 year old. But I knew Omega was a good brand because my boss had one and would not stop raving about them. A guy came in and offered this for sale and my boss was not around, so I offered him £20 for it (the glass was cracked and it was very scratched, the dial was badly stained and it had a scrappy leather strap and I was only earning £16.50/week) which was duly accepted - I was chuffed to bits. My boss later told me off big time as I was not supposed to do deals with customers (I think he was jealous as I know he would have bought it in a heartbeat). So I have had this for many years and would never part with it.

  2. Not that I need one but heck, what sort of watch enthusiast would I be if I let that stop me! :thumbsu: I have always had a soft spot for Timex. My first watch was a manual wind Scottish made childs Timex that was given to me when I was around 8 years old back in the 70's Nowadays I have a thing for the Easy Reader's I just think they are a design classic. I have the Stainless Steel date version but have wanted one of the gold on gold expansion bracelet versions for a while. Well, I found a seller in the US selling brand new ones. He saves on shipping costs by ditching the box which I am fine with. All the paper work is included and it has the guarentee. I love this version with the Railroad dial and day and date. Can't wait for it to get here!

  4. This one works which is good. But the Day indicator dial has damaged teeth which is bad. Trying to track one down. It's a 1260 movement.

  7. Thats a very nice clear dial with a classic look, a nice practical, useable watch. Timex have a very long history and have a new (2011) tempting range called "Timex intelligent quartz", can be found on Amazon starting at £55. Timex used to cater for the less expensive end of the market, I think the new ones at £100+ show they have shifted focus somewhat.

  8. That's actually a nice, clear, unpretentious dial. Dare I ask the price? Let us know what the build's like...
