Watch Face Restoration

Is there a simple way of removing cracks from porcelain watch faces. Specifically old pocket watches.

I've heard putting them in water with a denture cleaning tablet over night works well as long as all the lettering went on as part of the original enameling process, not painted on after.

 

Cracks will still be there but the dirt in the crack will be gone making it show up less.

I did that once and lost all the lettering on the sub dial:)

Not aware that cracking in enamel dials can be repaired easily. Normally would have to be dealt with by a specialist.
If the watch is not too rare, trolling eBay for a replacement dial is the best option and often the cheapest option
