Recycling

Recommended Posts

I didn't find any references when I searched the forum, so hopefully I didn't miss anything.  Anyway, I'm hoping to find suggestions on locations for recycling stainless steel watch parts and watch batteries (both Silver Oxide and Lithium).

Thank you all in advance for your help and suggestions.

Any place that takes batteries for recycling should take watch batteries (a lot of large supermarket chains and electronic stores have them: walmart, stop and shop, best buy...). Some of them require the contacts to be taped to avoid short circuits.

Alternatively, your local household hazardous material collection center will take them (sometimes for a fee).

Clean stainless steel is worth £0.5 to £1.0 per kilo.
Consumer batteries including watch batteries have a negative value- you pay someone to take them.
Not a great business proposition!
