2824 second hand fitment

Hi all. Quick question. Does the second hand fit in or over the pinion??

 

The hour and minute fit over is the second the same ?!

 

I relumed a dial but can't get the second hand back on. And i cant work out if the pinion has snapped off inside the second hand as i cant get it to stay put.

hi i also have a problem with the seconds hand on an orient star gmt, the seconds hand does not have a hole to sit over the pinion but has a small pip that sits in a hole at the top of the hand movement but it wont pop in place, would their be a bush of some kind that sits in the hole that maybe came out with old seconds hand which ive lost doh.

Jason, you do indeed have the same problem.  The end of the pivot that that hand fits over has snapped off and will be lodged in the centre boss of the second hand.
