What's the best way to true a Centre wheel ?

I have a distorted centre wheel on an old Roamer MST372

I can use the staking set to make sure the pinion is at 90 deg, but what's the best way to flatten the wheel ?

A really big hollow staking tool would do it !

What you need is a Truing Caliper. The link below has pictures and talks briefly about using them. The problem with the center wheel and especially if that's a pocket watch the pivots are really big. So very likely are going to have to modify the end to hold a bigger pivot.

I have some truing calipers -  I have trued pocket watch balances wheels with them.

The centre wheel fits in them OK. I may have bent it myself when fitting the cannon pinion.

I hold the centre wheel in place with one finger, and push the cannon pinion on with tweezers, probably not the best method ?
