Anyone know how to find the age of a watch?

Recommended Posts

Having recently purchased my very first vintage, see below, I am curious to when it was manufactured but with no paperwork with the watch its tricky.  Does anyone have any information on the brand Reporter?

The watch was purchased from Italy, and the day wheel is in Italian.  I have found a similar watch , different brand however, also in Italy, almost identical but with a blue dial, I cant find the listing at the moment however..

Found some info here..

The cult movie “Professione Reporter” starring Jack Nicholson has been the source of inspiration of this brand: the image of an international man

Reporter Collection is characterized by a strong message, enhanced by a complete proposal of accessories.

Reporter brand was acquired by Inghirami Company in 1994.

Film was released in 1975, so that gives me a rough idea of when my watch was made, probably late 70's.

Here's the other one I found similar to mine but a different brand.

Numbered dial instead of stick dial like mine.

And another similar model, these two are selling at €500 to €700 a piece.

I found out its 1982 [emoji4]

Size can only be an indicator but not conclusive. Here's my swatch. Bought in 2007 I think ? It has a 37mm case. Domed crystal as opposed to flat and fitted with a ETA 2841-1 movement.
From after that time watch size went bigger to Coco the clown size, as today7cb804422bc900e64a9ded20be6b5ef2.jpg420e4974148e038ed5ca473ec70617cf.jpg

I've another watch for you. This is my Omega. It's a classic 32mm case (35mm) with crown. It has a Flat Crystal as becoming more popular from the mid eighties. It's fitted with the Omega 1430 movement (ETA 255.111) Base movement. This watch is so comfortable to wear you need never take it off. The watch dates from 1984.
Beware though as vintage watches can become VERY ADDICTIVE !!!c931f1bc22c881138ac53345d025b829.jpg1c9a400208ba2312045e1e52122715d3.jpg
